NCCP Code of Ethics

Leadership and professionalism                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        This principle considers the inherent power and authority that a coach holds.

Ethical standards of behaviour

  • Understand the authority that comes with your position and make decisions that are in the best interest
    of all participant
  • Share your knowledge and experience openly
  • Maintain the athlete-centered approach to coaching so that every participant’s well being is a priority
  • Be a positive role model
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of participants’ personal information
Health and safety
This principle considers the mental, emotional, physical health and safety of all participants.

Ethical Standards of Behaviour

  • Recognize and minimize vulnerable situations to ensure the safety of participants
  • Prioritize a holistic approach when planning and delivering training and competition
  • Advocate for, and ensure appropriate supervision of participants, including the Rule of Two
  • Participate in education and training to stay current on practices to ensure the continued safety of your participants
  • Understand the scope of your role and skills and call upon others with specialized skills when needed to
    support your participants
Respect and Integrity
This principle considers respect and integrity, which are the rights of all participants.

Ethical standards of Behaviour

  • Provide equitable opportunity and access for all
  • Establish a respectful and inclusive sport environment where all participants can raise questions or concerns
  • Obey the rules and participate honestly and respectfully
  • Be open, transparent and accountable for your actions
  • Maintain objectivity when interacting with all participants

Safety Person Code of Ethics

  • Strive to enhance the safety of all  participants at all times.
  • Use only those techniques that you are qualified to administer.
  • Always err on the side of caution and never practice any behaviour that may
    ultimately harm a participant or worsen an injury.
  • Never intentionally mislead or lie about your qualifications, education or
    professional affiliations.
  • Strive to achieve the highest level of competence and continue to educate yourself
    to update and improve your skills.
  • Strive to promote the values of Fair Play, integrity and friendship in hockey, and never condone, encourage, engage in or defend unsportsmanlike conduct, including the use of performance enhancing substances.
  • Always put the player’s best interest first and ensure that all players are treated with respect and integrity; free from any form of physical and/or emotional maltreatment.
  • Never practice, condone, defend or permit discrimination on the basis of race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, age, religion or ethnic origin.
  • Respect all participant information as confidential. Such information shall not be disclosed to any person without the consent of the participant and their parents or guardians, except where required by law or in the event of an emergency

Player Code of Conduct

  • I will sport because I want to, not because
    others or the coach wants me.
  • I will participate in apex club activities alcohol and drug free
  • Respect everyone involved in your sport experience: parents, coaches, teammates, officials, and opponents;
  • Never use violence or bad language, nor harass players, coaches, officials, or other spectators
  • I will play by the rules of sport and in the spirit of the game.
  • I will respect my opponents.
  • I will remember that winning isn’t everything – that having fun, improving skills, making friends and doing my best are
    also important.
  • I will acknowledge all good plays and performances – those of my team and my opponents
  • I will remember that coaches and officials are there to help me. I will accept their decisions and show them respect.
  • Understand and adhere to the all Club Polices Social Media Guidelines

Parent Code of Conduct

  • I will NOT force my child to participate in sport
  • I will remember that my child plays sport for their enjoyment, not mine.
  • I will encourage my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflict without resorting to hostility or violence.
  • I will teach my child that doing one’s best is as important as winning so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of the game.
  • I will make my child feel like a winner every time by offering praise for competing fairly and hard.
  • I will never ridicule or yell at my child for making a mistake or losing a game.
  • I will remember that children learn by example. I will applaud good plays and performances by both my child’s team and their opponents.
  • I will never question the official’s judgment or honesty in public. I
    recognize officials are being developed in the same manner as players.
  • I will support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from
    children’s sports
  • I will respect and show appreciation for the volunteers who give their time to sport for my child.

Our Directors and Coaches are looking forward to our Field Lacrosse Recruiting Trip (Bel Air, MD) for our High School Elite team and the start of volleyball tryouts for 13U,14U, 15U, 16U, 17U and18U Female.  We would also like to welcome the addition of a 16U Male team and 15U Cochrane, AB Female team to our Volleyball Family!
